Author: www.SkinCareFirst.com

There are hundreds of products on the market today that deal with the aging of the body.  Many of these products are cosmetics that offer temporary solutions, such as the dying of the hair, or the wearing of make-up to smooth over those facial features associated with age.

In the fight against the natural aging process, we need to go further than just addressing the symptoms of aging. The obvious visible signs of the aging of our skin include the wrinkling and drooping of the skin

One very effective method of going beyond the treatment of the symptoms of aging skin is to address the needs of the skin using antiaging skin care treatment. Before taking steps to begin an antiaging skin care treatment routine, it will be beneficial to understand the aging process of the skin.

Aging Skin

To fully understand the need for anti-aging skin care treatments it is important to understand two key factors. The first factor is the importance of the skin and its relationship to the body.  The second factor is to understand how the aging process affects the skin.

Did you know that the largest organ of the human body is actually the human skin?

The importance of the human skin is not just how good it looks, but in the functions that it provides. One of the key functions of our skin is in its ability to be the first line of defense in preventing illness. Another key function of the skin is the through the skin’s ability to sweat. Sweating is a vital function that allows the cooling of the body. The perspiration process allows the human body to maintain its 98.6° temperature.

As we grow older our body produces less collagen. This causes the skin to become less supple and elastic, and this loss of elasticity results in the sagging and wrinkling of our skin.

Other skin aging symptoms include the appearance of blemishes, "age spots" and warts. In addition, women who have experienced menopause have associated dryness of the skin. Dry skin is due to the fact that the skin generates less of its natural oils which results in a decrease in the skin’s moisture. As we grow older the skin's ability to perspire is lessened.  This decrease in the skin's ability to sweat puts the older individual at risk from the likes of heat stroke.

Anti Aging Skin Care Treatment

There are some practical steps that you should take as part of your anti-aging skin care treatment. This includes limiting your exposure to the sun, but when you must go in the sun it is very important to apply a quality sunscreen to exposed areas of your skin. When you do go outdoors in the sunlight, another preventative measure is to wear sensible protective clothing and head cover.

Nutrition plays a very important part in maintaining healthy skin and should always be part of your anti-aging skin care treatment. Always keep your body hydrated through drinking plentiful amounts of water. Eat a proper diet of fruits and vegetables that will help to stimulate the natural production of collagen. As mentioned earlier, collagen is the element of the body that contributes to the elasticity of the skin.

Another anti-aging skin care treatment suggestion is to keep the skin properly moisturized. There are many anti-aging skin care products on the market for every skin type. There are creams you can apply to skin at night before bed, and non-oily skincare products that you can apply during the day.

The body’s natural moisture can be aided by the way of exfoliating skin lotions.  These lotions contain ingredients that help in exfoliating the skin. Exfoliating is a process that helps the removal of dead skin from the face and body. This dead skin removal keeps the pores of the skin unobstructed a free to breath. This aids in the reproduction of the skin and encourages new cell growth.
