www.howdini.com Do you eat organic food, but never think twice about the chemicals in the personal care products you use on your skin? It’s not easy to find organic skin care and beauty products, but environmentalist and author Anna Lappe has expert tips. How To Choose Organic Skin And Beauty Products You may be unpleasantly surprised to learn that unlike food there is no government certified labeling program for organic ingredients in skin care and beauty products. So how can you tell whether you’re choosing organic cosmetics and skin care products or not? * Read the labels, not just the name of the product. Some products will include the word organic in their name, but on closer inspection of the ingredients you wont find any organic ingredients at all. * Check the label to see whether the ingredients include petroleum, synthetic preservatives or artificial colors. Also watch out for parabens and phthaltes. * You can also consult the Environmental Working Groups Skin Deep website, www.cosmeticsdatabase.com. You can enter the name of the products you use and see whether they contain ingredients you want to avoid. Keywords: organic skin care organic cosmetics organic makeup organic skin care products

Skin Care Expert In Training,
I LOVE this cream! It’s a $15 version of La Mer, only even better since they added DMAE, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Vitamin C (the Dr. Perricone “trilogy” of anti-aging must-haves) as well as hyaluronic acid (a great humectant that keeps moisture in). When I first started using it, I had red, flaky, extremely dry skin following a bad reaction to something (still am not sure what sensitized me so much). I tried everything to keep the skin from flaking and peeling (olive oil, baby oil, every moisturizer, etc). After one night of having this cream on my face, I was almost 100% healed of my dry skin. After 2 nights of using the cream, I was 100% healed.
Now that I have been using this seaweed miracle cream for about 2 weeks and my skin is happily hydrated, it can feel a bit greasy if you use it both in the morning and at night (especially since I only use a cleanser at night). Therefore, I went out to buy the seaweed-based daily moisturizer with spf to use for the mornings so that I don’t start to get a build-up of blackheads from such a heavy cream.
I was SO impressed that this little $15 cream that I picked up at Whole Foods did what much more expensive creams couldn’t do. Needless to say, I’m sold on the Alba Organics line now. I have also now tried their Pineapple Enzyme Mask to exfoliate (1x per week). It’s great too as I have skin that can’t handle regular mechanical exfoliation (I get red very easily).
Again, I love this product. If you have dry, couperose (prone to redness) skin…this is the cream for you! Just do some research on seaweed and you’ll realize that this ingredient is THE BEST. Any other new cream or miracle potion out there likely has an ingredient in it that seaweed already has. And for $15, it’s such a bargain!

|Good stuff, right price!,
This is very emollient, but has actually helped my skin clear up. It smells great but not perfume-y. I did a search on the ingredients and found out that this skin cream has a lot of the same stuff as some really expensive creams that cost well over $100. I love it!
