I love this product!,
I was shocked by how low this product was ranked, untill I remembered why I buy it and what its actually marketed for.
Over a year and half ago I bought this product hoping I had found a moisturizer that was proven to reduce acne scars. It also helped that it had SPF.
I felt I hit the motherload and I was right!
Whenever my skin feels irritates, I put this on and its soothed right away!
When I need sunblock, these baby works! I can actually feel the difference between the sun hitting the parts of my body that arent covered with this stuff!
This helps reduce my acne scars and any discoloration!
The only thing I wish was that the onion wasn’t so strong or I could put this closer around my eyes.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff and they better not ever dicontinue it!
PS.
Be careful with the expiration

|Be Realistic About The Results,
I had major shoulder surgery earlier this year with a hematoid under the scar that left a thicker scar than would be usual. I applied the gel up to three times daily (it is just inconvenient for me to apply all day long). I was ready to be realistic. The redness around the suture gradually evened out until there were no more irritation marks from putting tough bandages on and off daily. The gel forms almost a seal over the scar and it will flake off during the day – that’s why applying the gel often is important. My surgeon thought the scar healed over nicely in four months, but there is still a thin scar. There is also some sun-block in this product as a scar gets exposed to the sun, it will turn white. I also tried Bio-Oil, 2-Ounce Bottle for some minor scratches last year and it helped but was slightly greasy. This is not inexpensive gel, but if you look at what you hope to achieve it’s worth it. Also, Target has a scar gel with the exact same ingredients as Mederma, so it might be worth checking out.

|This is nothing but 100% sunscreen!!!,
I bought this product (Mederma Scar Cream = SPF) for a nasty burn that I had on my hand.
There are three active ingredients printed on this tube: Avobenzone, Octocrylene, and Oxybenzone. Those are the only three products listed. THESE ARE SUNSCREEN!
What a load of garbage and false advertising. They have marketed this product in a way that would make a consumer believe that this helps diminish or reduce the appearance of scars when in fact, this is nothing but regular sunscreen. I understand it says SPF30 on the tube, but any reasonable consumer (like me!) would believe this is an *ingredient*, not the *totality* of the product. Where are the scar reducing/dimishing elements? Sure sunscreen will prevent sun damage to the scar going forward, but I want something that helps damage that was already done.
Do not buy this unless you simply want to pay $15 for 0.7 ounce of plain old suncreen.
THERE IS NO ACTIVE INGREDIENT printed on this box that serves to reduce or diminish scarring.
100% sunscreen, I cannot stress that enough. Please google the ingredients and see for yourself.
